Sensory Friendly Swim
At North Clackamas Aquatic Park, we understand the importance of creating a comfortable and inviting aquatic environment. Our Sensory Friendly Swim is designed specifically for swimmers seeking a peaceful atmosphere that minimizes sensory overload. Here, you can expect reduced noise levels, limited lighting, and a smaller number of swimmers in a flat-water setting.
The swim includes waterslides, dive well (no diving board), kiddie pool, hot tub (for 18+) and wave pool (no waves). Swimmers are required to have a responsible supervisor join them in the water for all ages.
Measures include:
- No background music.
- No waves, interactive fountains or whistles used.
- Limited lighting.
- No speaker announcements.
- Two quiet sensory friendly break rooms to use as calm spaces.
- Additional staff available for support.
