Inclement Weather and Emergency Closures

Decisions to close facilities or delay openings are generally made the morning of the closure, or when possible, the night before. Closure protocol vary by facility:

• Milwaukie Community Center: If the decision is made to close the Center, the phone recording (503) 653-8100 and website will be updated by 8 a.m. For Meals on Wheels deliveries, staff attempts to send an additional shelf-stable meal to recipients in advance in case volunteers cannot deliver on a weather-impacted day.
• North Clackamas Aquatic Park: The phone recording at 503.794.8080 and the website will be updated by 4:15 a.m. on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and 8 a.m. on all other days for delayed opening or closure information. A delayed opening means the building will open at 8 a.m. or later.

When weather or other emergency situations result in closures, residents have several options to receive information:

1. Check this Alerts and Closures page on the website for updates.
2. Register for FlashAlert, which provides district closure information via text, email, or an app: FlashAlert.
3. Call the NCPRD Main Line: 503.742.4348. The phone recordings are updated by 6:30 a.m. on days when facilities are impacted by weather or other unforeseen events.
