Aquatic Park Rules & FAQ

At North Clackamas Aquatic Park, we are committed to providing all of our patrons a safe and enjoyable experience. To help us achieve this goal, we kindly ask all visitors to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the following rules.

General Facility Rules

  • Please supervise children 9 years of age and younger. A three to one ratio supervisor ratio is required for children 3-9 years of age, a two to one ratio is required for children 0-2 years of age. A responsible supervisor can be 13 years of age or older.
  • No outside flotation devices are allowed, except U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejackets. Life jackets are available to use for free in limited quantities.
  • Showers are required for all swimmers before entering the pool.
  • No glass items are allowed in the facility.
  • No running on the pool deck.
  • No outside toys or floatation devices are allowed in the facility.
  • Failure to comply with lifeguard commands or facility rules could result in expulsion.
  • Swim diapers are required for all individuals who are not potty trained.

Locker Rooms

  • Lockers are available with a photo ID or $5 cash deposit, per key, at the front desk.
  • Don't leave personal belongings in the locker rooms.
  • Family and handicapped changing rooms are available.
  • North Clackamas Aquatic Park is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Wave Pool

  • Waves run for 15 minutes and then are off for 10 minutes.
  • Inner tubes are included in your admission; limited supply is available.
  • No diving allowed.

Lap Pool

  • Lap pool is for fitness related activities only for those 13 years of age or older, unless during specified “all ages” swimming times.
  • Circle swimming (up to four people per lane) and split shared lanes (a maximum of two people per lane) are available.
  • Use of the diving blocks is prohibited. Do not sit on or swim over the lane lines.

Dive Well, Diving Board and Drop Slide

  • Dive well is reserved for use of the drop slide or diving board during our Big Surf hours and is unavailable for exercise during this time.
  • Guests may not catch other guests who use the drop slide or diving board.
  • Guests who use the drop slide or the diving board must exit the pool immediately afterward.
  • Guests may be asked by staff to demonstrate a water competency skill test in order to use these features.
  • No life jackets, goggles, or swim aids are allowed on the drop slide or diving board.
  • Guests must be under 250 lbs. to use slide and/or diving board.
  • Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to go on the drop slide.

Hot Tub

  • The hot tub is for adults 18 years of age and older.
  • Refrain from using the hot tub for more than 10 minutes at a time.
  • Elderly people and those suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure should consult their physician before using the hot tub.
  • No person suffering from a communicable disease, transmissible via water, shall use the hot tub.
  • People using prescription medications should consult their physician before using the hot tub.
  • Pregnant women should not use the spa pool without consulting their physician.
  • No diving allowed.

Kiddie Pool

  • Kiddie pool is for children 6 years of age or younger.
  • Swim diapers are required for children who are not potty trained.
  • Only one child down the Sammy the Seal slide at a time. Adults and youth over the age of 6 years old are prohibited.
  • Guests must stay off the fountains along the wall.
  • Children swimming in the kiddie pool must have an adult with paid admission in the water with them.
  • No diving allowed.

Big Slides & Splashdown

  • Guests must be at least 48 inches tall, and weigh 250 lbs. or less, to go on the slides.
  • Only 1 rider is allowed on the slides at a time.
  • Life jackets, goggles, shorts with rivets, water shoes, sandals and the use of other swim aids are not allowed on the slides.
  • Guests cannot catch other guests in the splash-down pool.
  • Once a guest has exited the slide, they must exit the splash-down pool immediately.
  • No diving allowed.

Steel Mountain Rock Wall

  • Only trained staff may assist with harness setup.
  • Climbers must use a harness with ground padding and stay within designated areas.
  • Weight requirements: between 45 and 200 lbs..
  • Avoid crossing over routes, kicking off the wall, or horseplay in the area.
  • Descend carefully in a seated position and always land feet first.

Frequently Asked Questions

NCPRD residency is based on a current household’s address being located within the district boundaries. NCPRD residents may have access to early registration dates and discounted rates. Proof of residency is confirmed at the Aquatic Park with photo I.D. listing the current home address. Business addresses may not be used for proof of residency. You can confirm whether you’re a resident of NCPRD by viewing the district map here.

If you need any accommodations due to medical conditions or disabilities please reach out to the Aquatic Park Supervisor at aquaticpark@ncprd.com to make arrangements prior to your visit. Water wheelchairs are available upon request at the front desk.

Yes–lockers are included with all admissions with a $5 cash deposit or photo ID per key. There is a $5 lost locker key fee if you misplace your key. Note: the North Clackamas Aquatic Park is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Yes–all locker room showers are available for use with your swim fee.

No–the North Clackamas Aquatic Park is unable to provide towels. Please bring your own towels for your swim.

Patrons are encouraged to wear or bring their swimsuit to the Aquatic Park, and bring their own towel, snacks, and a personal water bottle. Drinking fountains throughout Aquatic Park and a bottle fill station in the lobby are available for use. Equipment is provided for lap swim or exercise classes, as needed.

Sorry, we do not allow outside flotation devices. However, we do allow U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets. Thoroughly inspect the jacket’s tags and printed information to see if the jacket is approved. If not directly stated on the jacket, it will not be allowed for use in the facility. North Clackamas Aquatic Park does provide life jackets free of charge for public use; limited supply available.

North Clackamas Aquatic Park is a family environment and we request that you dress appropriately during your visit. Clothing that can be considered vulgar, offensive, or gang related will not be allowed during your visit. If clothing is deemed to be inappropriate by management, you may be asked to change your attire or leave the facility.

Proper swimwear is required on all water slides. Denim or swimwear with buckles, rivets or zippers are not permitted on the water slides.

Children and adults of any age are welcome at North Clackamas Aquatic Park. Infants and toddlers must wear a swim diaper in the pools. Children 9 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible supervisor 13 years of age or older in the water at all times. A three to one ratio for those 3-9 years of age, a two to one ratio for those 0-2 years of age. A responsible supervisor can be 13 years of age or older.

Children must be 48 inches tall to ride the slides. Only one rider is allowed down the slide at a time. There is a small Sammy the Seal slide available for children six years and under in the kiddie pool.

Yes–a responsible supervisor 13 years of age or older must be paid for and swimming in the water with all children 9 years of age or younger. The required child to supervisor ratio is three to one for children 3-9 years of age, and a ratio of two to one for children 0-2 years of age.

All of our swimming facilities are indoors. However, we do offer a picnic area, volleyball court, and large sun deck that are all located outdoors.

Yes! We offer an 11-month pass good for drop-in programs, including lap swim, Big Surf recreation swim, and Parent Preschool Swim. The pass does not include swim lessons or water aerobics classes. See details and rates.

The Aquatic Park lap pool is 25 yards. A swimmer must swim 72 lengths of the pool to reach one mile.

The waves are turned on throughout the duration of Big Surf Recreation Swim sessions, alternating on for 15 minutes and off for 10 minutes.

After each shift our staff cleans the facility to the best of their ability. At that time, all belongings collected are placed in the lost and found area. North Clackamas Aquatic Park is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
